Team Profile:

Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. Our clients include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research and Global Capital Markets.


Position Description:

We are looking for a self-motivated application integrator with keen interest in problem solving and a passion for learning to join our client Speedway team. The team is a part of the Client Connectivity Services group, and is tasked with the design, development, and maintenance of the firm's ultra-low latency risk-check direct-market-access gateways. The team is diverse and distributed globally. We have developers in New York, London, Montreal and Hong Kong, who all interact regularly with each other and with the local business units and with external clients.


The ideal candidate for this role would have good communication skills, a solid technology foundation preferably with good knowledge in both Linux Shell and Python. The candidate will work to onboard clients to our platforms, ensuring integration between their external system and ours. Candidate will maintain some of the core ultra-low latency platforms making up the firms DMA (Direct Market Access) offering and will contribute to our products regionally and globally. Although a dedicated support group provides the bulk of day-to-day support, the candidate will be expected to provide 3rd level product support.


This role also offers the opportunity to extend your technical knowledge with challenging projects and learn new technologies such as FPGA, access to a pool of experts in a wide range of technologies and learn more about the Financial industry in various asset classes.


Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 5+ year’s experience in a similar role
  • Linux/Shell scripting
  • Python
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Good communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Perl scripting
  • Experience with Wireshark
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Exposure to the financial industry
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Train concepts and automation servers like Jenkins


All our positions are located in Montreal, Quebec. We offer a hybrid work environment, combining remote work and attendance in the office.

Knowledge of French and English is required.
