This problem can occur on any platform.
Symptoms
Upgraded database from 9.2.0.8 to 10.2.0.3 and applied CPUJul2008 patch. When running an application, the following error was generated in both the alert.log and trace files:
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [ACCESS_VIOLATION] [_nsgblini+1158]
Cause
This is caused by a Citrix issue, registered as Bug 6034063, closed as not a bug.
Solution
We do not support Citrix as a web client platform. If you have a problem, you must first reproduce the problem in a native (local) environment. If it doesn't reproduce, a restart to the Citrix Server might help.
However if it didn't, kindly contact the Citrix Vendor and ensure that you are on the latest release of the terminal server.
